Microsoft founder Bill Gates will serve as Roger Federer’s doubles partner in Seattle later this month in the Roger Federer Foundation’s fourth Match For Africa charity event, benefitting children’s education. ”With my foundation, we want to provide one million children with the opportunity for a quality education by the end of 2018,” Federer said in a statement. “The Match for Africa 4 in Seattle will help us reach our ambitious goals. I am very grateful for this opportunity to collaborate with Bill Gates, who in my opinion is the world’s leading philanthropist.”
Gates, is the world’s richest man, with a current net worth of $87 billion according to Forbes. With 18 grand slams in more than 18 years on tour, Federer is now the Bill Gates of tennis, with a net worth of $68 million according to Forbes, easily more than any other active tennis pro.
The pair will face off against American John Isner and another celebrity still to be determined. The match will be held April 29.
